Liberty Worth

textural fiber art using salvaged materials

Culver City, CA, United States6 works1 exhibitionWebsite ↗

I create textile wall paintings from discarded materials, breathing new life into overlooked fabrics. By repurposing remnants from fashion designers, interior decorators, and post-consumer waste, I address the pressing issue of textile waste. Living in coastal California, I draw inspiration from the ocean, beaches, shifting light, and natural landscapes. I constantly search for patterns and textures, using photography to stay observant. Witnessing nature's cycles and the vibrant tapestry of urban life, I employ intuitive quilting techniques to construct dynamic compositions. Each piece is a unique blend of color and texture, inviting viewers to explore the beauty inherent in the discarded. Through my work, I aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the power of textiles to connect us to our past, present, and future. By transforming waste into art, I hope to inspire others to consider their environmental impact and embrace the potential for creativity in everyday life. Liberty Worth is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, and international arts educator whose sustainable fine art and social practice installations are exhibited globally, with a permanent installation at the Cayton Children’s Museum in Santa Monica, California. Her award-winning work has been featured in major exhibitions across Southern California and New York—as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas in Miami—and she is currently preparing for a featured role in a museum exhibition in 2027. Her work has also been highlighted in publications such as Vogue.com, World of Interiors and Uppercase Magazine. Having participated in multiple artist residencies, Liberty brings deep experience teaching across the U.S., Italy, and Moldova, designing dynamic workshops and social practice projects that democratize creativity and community-centered craft.
