Congratulations to Art Venti: Our October 2012 Artist Of the Month

"I’m very impressed, first of all, with Art Venti's virtuosity, along with the apparent physical breadth of his work and the complexity of his imagery, which goes back and forth between abstraction and the evocation not just of the landscape, but specifically of either or both mountains and/or undersea imagery. It’s just very impressive work all the way around.

Having not seen the real work... we were not able to judge the work’s scale... even then I was impressed with it. There was nothing that indicated that it was done with pencil except the label. If it were the result of photographic or digital manipulation I would have been less impressed. The drama of the image and its texture, its very sensitive tonality, are all the more remarkable for having been hand-rendered."

Recently Art Venti also became the First Prize Winner In the prestigious TAG Gallery 2012 California Open Juried Competition, that recognizes excellence in a diverse range of styles and media and offers artists exposure at Bergamot Station Arts Center, Southern California’s largest art gallery complex and cultural center.

We have been able to photograph Art Venti at this happy moment of his life when he received his award.
