Won an honorable mention for her monotype NATURA MORTA IN BIANCO E NERO IN THE PRESTIGIOUS Santa Barbara Printmakers annual competition held this year in the Santa Barbara Municiple Gallery.

Annemarie Rawlinson:

I just returned from a week in Austin,attending the annual conference of the "Society of Layerists in Multimedia", an international group with a holistic outlook I belong to. This year SLMM published another book - "Visual Journeys" - Art of the 21st Century" - showing work of its members and including a photo of my assemblage "The Open Door" (purchased by the Stadtmuseum in St. Poelten, my birth town in Austria). Two 18" x 18" squares ("Footlose" and "Sweeping the Universe") were also accepted into the exhibition "New Directions" at the Dragonfly Gallery in Rosedale, Austin.

"I am pleased to announce my upcoming Solo Show at HAUS, and would like to invite to the Preview Reception - 10/24/10 4-7 pm. The 20 color photographs reveal dim interiors of vacant storefronts in southern California neighborhoods, while reflecting the ongoing activity of the world outside. As I photographed, my head cast shadows in the glass, allowing a glimpse inside to tangible reminders of a shattered economy. From dark to light, from stillness to activity, these images capture what is usually invisible in plain sight."

Monika Steiner:

"I am currently working on the "Heroes and Hearts" fundraiser for San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. When I finish painting this huge fiberglass heart it will be auctioned off in February 2011. This is definitely an exciting project for a great cause. I also started a series entitled Serenity on three large panels for the Seattle Art Museum's TASTE restaurant. There will be an opening reception on December 15, from 5 to 6 pm."
